About Us

The doctors of Cancer Care Centers of Florida have been serving our community with expert advice and state-of-the-art technology for the past 25 years. As radiation oncologists, we specialize in the evaluation and treatment of cancer patients with radiation therapy. Our goal has been to provide the best and most advanced care possible for our patients. We were the first in the area to implement Image Guided Radiation Therapy. Our advanced technology allows us  to  track the cancerous tumor area accurately, prior to delivering daily radiation treatments. This precision has the potential to lead to higher cure rates with reduced side effects to our patients.

Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy is the use of high energy X-rays to destroy diseased tissue while minimizing damage to healthy normal cells. A linear accelerator is a machine that produces the radiation, which is then directed thru an opening with customized blocks to protect healthy tissue. Currently more than 60% of cancer patients in the United States will receive radiation therapy in conjunction with surgery and or chemotherapy.

Our two radiation therapy centers have been constructed and equipped with industry leading Varian linear accelerators with Image Guided Radiation Therapy. The accelerators have advanced radiotherapy technology, special computers, electronic sensing devices and metering equipment to assure you the most up-to-date methods in cancer treatment. All of our treatment planning is done using CT guidance. In our Brooksville office we have the most advanced linear accelerator in Hernando, Pasco, and Citrus County. The technology gives us the capability of performing Image Guided Radiation Therapy using a cone beam CT scan taken seconds before treatment. We can therefore ensure accurate and precise radiation treatment.
